On a day when we hear the sad news of Chris Cornell’s untimely death, let us cheer you up with some good news. For the past 3 months a group of young, aspiring musicians from Step-by-Step, a charity that helps homeless young people in Aldershot, have been working together at the West End Centre to form bands, write songs and progress their talent for music. Lewis is a drummer, Lewis had no drum kit, no access to a drum kit and no way of affording to get a drum kit of his own. Through F4Wt’s gear exchange Lewis now has a kit to actually play! All thanks to Lawrence and those of you who have donated in the past few months. The funding for the group sessions ran out at Easter.
After seeing the guys perform together and display the progression in their craft and how wonderfully they’ve all worked together, we are VERY pleased to announce that F4Wt will be funding them to continue for another 3 months to see where the time and experience takes them next.
All this was made possible by your donations. It’s changing lives for the better, making new music. I think Chris Cornell would think that was pretty cool.
